The proofing process is vital but time consuming, expensive and with the over use of couriers and paper, less environmentally friendly than it could be.
We’re always looking at ways to improve the system while maintaining the need for absolute accuracy. Now, thanks to our Pre-Press solutions provider, NCS, Pelican is delighted to be able to offer an upgrade to Realtime Proof (RTP).
RTP works over the internet – so our client who wants to proof a piece of work can do so when they receive it via email. From there, the customer can check the overall look, feel and technical accuracy of a piece of work.
The upgrade means enhanced functionality and usability. Users can now view multiple pages, make annotations, check technical specification right down to colour match (something that was previously difficult and an area of concern for designers who needed to know that the right colour spec was being used irrespective of monitor variations).
In addition, the system allows for more than one person to simultaneously check a single document – ideal for publishers or designers where more than one person has worked on design or copy for the work and they each need to check their own part. Further, RTP eliminates the need for couriers, paper and CD’s. By doing so it also allows proofing to happen that much faster and with less impact on the environment.
